A Personal Thank-You to Spirit.

Just say “thank you.”

That’s what Beverly told me when I expressed my lingering surprise at how effortless and familiar the path of the Mesa stones has been.  It’s as if I was born to it, yet it took over 50 years for me to come home to it.  Perhaps in another life I’ve walked here before. I believe it, yet it’s not to be proven and not really important. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I was always drawn to nature, and in different ways from those around me. A solo hike in the mountains, rain tapping on my tent in the deep woods, or a long run on a country road always fed my being. Still, I never connected any of it to my soul’s journey until recent years, when I suddenly discovered the connection between community, service and my love of nature.  I had remembered the indigenous being within me, and knew at once that this was the perfect path.

These days, everyone I meet is wonderful, and the world is full of wonder as I greet each day as a sacred ceremony. I try to honor all that is, to walk in integrity, aligned with my personal truths, and to leave others feeling better than when we met. Being human, it’s not always easy, and yet the rewards are many, and I’m thankful for the training I’ve received and for the support of my sweet wife Beverly, who has walked this path before me and encouraged me in my journey.
